As an example, after watching a video modeling sequence, one of my students put a Mr. The device can be brought directly to the student, at their eye level, in their natural environment. The iPad’s size and portability is an excellent way to show these models. In this example, the video would focus only on hand manipulations and the blocks. Video modeling a technique (such as building a block tower) systematically demonstrates target behavior, concentrating on the area of action. In my classroom, we utilize the iPad (shared between three classrooms) in several modes: as a tool to show video models for target behaviors, as a communication device, as an educational gaming system, and as a highly motivating and rewarding reinforcement. I could not imagine a little rectangular screen could engage my students, and motivate them to communicate, or work on cognitive and fine motor skills more effectively than peer models or an enthusiastic and skilled educator. I used double sided tape to stick them on the sides of the dice.Īs you can see, I organized the core vocabulary symbols by color to help reinforce different parts of speech. I used a low-tech board from their Core Word Classroom and cut out high frequency symbols. Many of my students use Proloquo2Go so I began there. Links for the low-tech board I use and some dry erase dice on Amazon are included as well (in case your Target doesn’t carry these!). Today, I’m going to share with you how I turned simple dry erase dice into an AAC and sentence formulation activity. I’m so excited to use them this school year with several of my students! I knew immediately what I wanted to do with them and I think they turned out well. I recently purchased these dry erase dice from the Target dollar section. I’ve been coming up with little projects to get me excited about therapy again!

To be honest, I’ve been having some anxiety about heading back to school.
